Meetings between Damascus, SDF, SDC are fruitful in making progress

The Syrian Democratic Council, the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, and the Syrian Democratic Forces stressed the importance of the participation of all segments of society in the new political process in Syria, and the necessity of agreeing with the Damascus authorities on mechanisms for resolving outstanding issues and the necessity of a ceasefire, calling on the Damascus authorities to assume their responsibilities in this context.

Yesterday, the regular coordination meeting was held between the Syrian Democratic Council, the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, and the Syrian Democratic Forces, according to what was published by the media center of the same parties.

The discussion focused on assessing the current situation in the country, and the progress of the ongoing dialogue with the Damascus authorities.

During the meeting, the field and political situations in the country were discussed, with a focus on the necessity of working to enhance security and political stability, especially in light of the increasing challenges facing the region. The importance of continuing the dialogue with the Damascus authorities was emphasized, and striving to achieve tangible results that contribute to finding solutions to the pending issues, in a way that guarantees the rights and interests of all Syrian components.

The attendees agreed to intensify efforts to hold a series of local meetings in various cities and towns in North and East Syria, with the aim of involving all societal groups in the political process, and ensuring that the outcomes of the dialogue represent the will of all components of the region.

The importance of the ongoing dialogue with the Damascus authorities was also emphasized.

In this context, the meeting stressed its keenness to make this dialogue a success by finding a solution to the details and issues being discussed, through an agreement to reach an appropriate implementation mechanism, such as merging military and administrative institutions, and the return of forcibly displaced persons to their areas of origin. Stressing the need to identify appropriate tools to achieve understandings on these issues.

The meeting also discussed the issue of a ceasefire, and considered it a necessary step to ensure the progress of the dialogue, stressing that achieving field stability contributes to creating an appropriate environment for continuing political discussions and reaching constructive understandings.

The attendees called on the Damascus authorities to assume their responsibilities towards the ceasefire and take practical steps to prove their seriousness in moving towards a comprehensive and just political solution.
