The Women's Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) held a meeting on Tuesday in Derbasiya city to discuss the latest political developments in Syria and the role of women in the coming phase, with the participation of a number of administrators and activists from civil society organizations and councils.

The meeting began with holding a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs. Then, the participants offered their perspectives on the situation of women in light of the political developments and the extent to which their rights will be guaranteed in the coming stage.

During the meeting, Netewi Ghemgin; the administrator at the Women's Council, emphasized women's continued commitment to their work despite the challenges. She noted that the Interim Government does not adequately recognize the role of women, and called for reinforcing their role and ensuring their participation in various fields.

She also addressed the importance of integration between the Autonomous Administration and the Interim Government, stressing the need to enshrine women's rights and enhance their presence in the political and social life.

The meeting concluded with the reaffirmation of continued working to promote the role of women and ensure their participation in shaping the future of the country.
