A group of families of Syrian Democratic Forces' (SDF) fighters, civilians, and prisoners held by the Syrian Interim Government who have not yet been released, despite the release of three groups, organized a protest.

The families gathered at the Martyr Osman Sabry Roundabout in Qamishlo, holding up pictures of their sons and demanding their release.

During the protest, the families chanted slogans such as, "We want our prisoners" and "With our souls, with our blood, we will redeem you, prisoner."

It should be noted that three groups of detainees have been released so far: the first on March 10th, 2026, which included the release of 100 people; the second on March 19th, which saw the release of 300 people; and the third on April 11th, which saw the release of 400 people.

These prisoner exchanges are part of the implementation of the January 29th Agreement between the SDF and the Syrian Interim Government, which stipulates the exchange of prisoners between the two parties in successive phases.
