Meeting discusses dialogue, stability, community engagement

The Democratic Union Party held an expanded meeting in the city of Tell Tamer to discuss the latest political developments and the situation in the region, attended by members of civil society institutions, representatives of political parties and women’s organizations, as well as a number of local residents.

The meeting began with holding a minute of silence, after which Serbast Rezan, an administrator with the Democratic Union Party, spoke about the course of the Kurdish liberation movement. He reviewed the history of the launch of the armed struggle on August 15 and the significance of that date as a key milestone in the movement’s history, as well as the stages the movement has gone through and the changes to its discourse and political trajectory over the past decades.

The meeting also addressed the changes that have taken place in the concept of political and social struggle, with a focus on the importance of community organization and strengthening its role in addressing challenges. It also highlighted the importance of women, young people and civil society institutions participating in political and social life.

The meeting also touched on developments related to the Kurdish cause and efforts to find political solutions to outstanding issues. Participants stressed the importance of dialogue and pursuing political avenues that contribute to achieving stability and ensuring the rights of the region’s various components.

The floor was then opened for discussion, with attendees focusing in their contributions on the importance of strengthening social organization, maintaining cohesion among the region’s various components, and avoiding being drawn into attempts aimed at undermining the region’s security and stability.
