Meeting between Syria’s Interim Govt, Asayish at Qamishlo Airport

A meeting is currently being held at Qamishlo International Airport between a delegation from Syria’s interim government and senior officials of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish). According to reports, the meeting is taking place within the framework of discussing the current situation of the airport.

A meeting is ongoing at Qamishlo International Airport bringing together a delegation from Syria’s interim government with leaders of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) and the airport administration, as part of completing the implementation of the provisions of the agreement signed on 29 January.

The meeting brings together Mahmoud Khalil Ali, a senior commander in the Internal Security Forces, and Marwan Al-Ali, the head of security appointed by the interim government in al-Hasakah, along with a number of other officials and administrators from both sides.

The discussions aim to assess and review the current status of the airport from administrative, technical, and security perspectives, in addition to examining mechanisms for coordination between the relevant parties to ensure the smooth and organized operation of the facility.

The meeting is being held inside the airport away from media coverage, with no further information available so far regarding the outcomes of the talks.
