Mazloum Abdi, Rohilat Afrin praise resistance of Tishrin Dam
The leadership of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) praised the resistance shown by the people of North and East Syria and their steadfastness in the face of plots targeting the achievements of the Syrian people.
The General Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, and a member of the General Command of the Women’s Protection Units, Rohilat Afrin, held a meeting with the protesters staging a sit-in at Tishrin Dam. The protest, ongoing since January 8, is aimed at standing up to the attacks of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries and at protecting the dam.
The meeting took place in conjunction with the arrival of SDF and YPJ commanders, accompanied by a delegation from the International Coalition, at Tishrin Dam.
From atop the dam, the protesters gathered as Mazloum Abdi and Rohilat Afrin saluted the heroic resistance being carried out by the people of North and East Syria, in all their diverse communities, in defense of the gains of their revolution. They commended the resilience shown at Tishrin Dam and the protection of this vital national facility, viewing it as one of the people's achievements made possible through the sacrifices of the martyrs.
They also emphasized the need for unity among all people to build a homeland that enjoys security and stability, where all citizens have equal and fair rights, free from exclusion and marginalization. They stressed the importance of continuing the struggle to achieve this goal.
