Mazloum Abdi discusses January 29 deal with Kurdish parties

The General Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazloum Abdi, held a meeting via Zoom with a group of Kurdish political parties in the city of Kobani to discuss the latest developments regarding the implementation of the January 29 agreement with the Syrian interim government, as well as the key challenges and progress in carrying out the deal.

The meeting took place today at the Executive Council headquarters of Kobani Administration, according to the official website of the Democratic Union Party (PYD).

During the meeting, Mazloum Abdi reviewed recent updates related to the implementation of the January 29 agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian interim government. He highlighted that the integration process is progressing smoothly in some areas, while facing obstacles in others. However, these challenges have not affected the continued implementation of the agreement’s provisions.

The discussion also addressed civil peace and ways to strengthen it in order to ensure social stability and preserve coexistence among the region’s communities.

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants presented several remarks focusing on the need to establish a unified reference body in Kobani that represents different segments of society. They also raised questions regarding Kobani’s status within the framework of the agreement and the mechanisms for applying it on the ground.
