Mazloum Abdi condoles South Kurdistan people, leadership for loss of Peshmergas

The Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces expressed his deep sorrow and condolences to the Kurdish people and the leaders of the Kurdistan Region after the loss of six Peshmerga fighters in a missile attack targeting a military base belonging to the forces in the Soran area, wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazloum Abdi, expressed his deepest condolences to the Kurdish people in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and to the President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Masoud Barzani, following the loss of several Peshmerga fighters and the wounding of others.

In a post on the X platform, Abdi stated that he shares the grief of the people of the Kurdistan Region and the Peshmerga forces over their fallen fighters. He added, "We also extend our condolences to President Masoud Barzani, the leaders of the region, and the families of the martyrs, and we wish a speedy recovery to the wounded."

A base belonging to the 80th Brigade of the Peshmerga forces in the Spilik area of Soran was targeted in an airstrike, resulting in the death of six fighters and injury of more than 45 others.
