Mass march in Qamishlo kicks off

In denouncing the attacks of the Turkish occupation on NE Syria, and emphasizing the preservation of the achievements of the peoples and the revolution, the Democratic Autonomous Administration in Jazera Canton organized a mass march in the city of Qamishlo in conjunction with the tenth anniversary of the declaration of the Autonomous Administration, on January 21, 2014.

Under the slogan, “In the spirit of the revolutionary people’s war, we will defeat the occupation and protect our revolution,” the march was launched in front of the Osman Sabri roundabout, with the participation of the people of the cities of Qamishlo, Derik, and Hasaka, the districts of the district: (Girkê Legê, Çil Agha, Tal Koçer, Tirbespiyê, Tal Hamis, Darbasiya, and Tal Tamer, Tal Barak and Al-Shaddadi), they roamed the main street in the western neighborhood, and headed towards the March 12 Martyrs Stadium.

Also participating in the march are members of civil and women’s institutions, the Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement, the Young Women’s Union, the Kurdish, Arab, and Syriac political parties in NESyria, representatives of the bodies and councils of the Democratic Autonomous-Administration in Jazera Canton, delegations from the NE Syria, and tribal notables.

The participants raised the flags of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, and pictures of the crimes of the Turkish occupation army against the region, which included targeting citizens, their homes, and service and vital facilities.

The march is scheduled to turn into a mass stand when the participants arrive at the square of the March 12 Martyrs Stadium, where several speeches will be delivered, on behalf of the Democratic Autonomous-Administration in Jazera Canton, the Martyrs’ Families Council, and Kongra Star.
