Manbij Council clarifies Turkish occupation's, its Mercenaries’ attacks

The Manbij Military Council's media center issued a statement clarifying the situation in Manbij Canton of North and East Syria and the realities on the ground. The statement reads:

"Over the past 12 days of recent events in Syria, Turkish-backed mercenaries, supported by Turkish airstrikes, launched dozens of attacks on the Manbij area and its countryside, all of which were thwarted by the Manbij and Al-Bab Military Councils. The mercenaries escalated their attacks over the past two days across all Manbij fronts, with intense clashes currently ongoing from the Tokhar front to Aoun al-Dadat, Arab Hassan, and Al-Arima between our fighters and the mercenaries.

This afternoon, with aerial and armored support from the Turkish occupation, a group of mercenaries advanced using armored vehicles towards the southern entrance of the city, where they fell into ambushes set by our forces. To exert psychological pressure on the residents, mercenary cells moved within the city to spread fear and chaos. Intense clashes are currently taking place at the city's entrance as well.

The Manbij Military Council, which has made thousands of sacrifices to protect the region from all terrorist organizations, has full confidence in its fighters' ability to repel the attack, alongside the people of Manbij who have supported our fighters through every stage of the struggle against ISIS and mercenary organizations."
