A couple was shot by unknown gunmen east of the town of Suran, north of Hama Governorate, resulting in the death of the husband and serious injuries to his wife. This incident has heightened concerns about the deteriorating security situation in the northern Hama countryside.

Local sources reported that the deceased was Mustafa Abdullah al-Hamroush, a farm worker, while his wife was hospitalized for treatment of her critical injuries.

According to observers, the motive for the crime remains unclear. It may be related to a blood feud or an attempted armed robbery, at a time when public fears are growing over the increasing crime rate and lack of security in the area.
