The Yazidi Women’s Union in the Al-Jazera region organized today, a lecture on the genocide crimes against Yazidi women by ISIS mercenaries and the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries.

The lecture, which was held in the office of the Yazidi Women's Union in the Tirbespiyê, Qamishlo canton, in the presence of dozens of Kurdish, Arab and Syriac women,

The lecture began with a silence minute in honor of the souls of the martyrs.

After that, Hadiya Shamo, the member of the Yazidi Women’s Union Coordination in the Al-Jazera region said that many women in the world are still exposed to violence in its various forms.

Shamo said that Yazidi women in particular were exposed to all forms of violence, whether physical, psychological or family violence, especially during the attack by ISIS mercenaries on Şengal in 2014, which committed genocide against the Yazidi community, explaining that this genocide was one of 74 decisions against Yazidis over time.

She pointed out that the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries committed the same crimes against Yazidi women, including murder, rape, and kidnapping, during its occupation attack on the Afrin region in late January 2018.

In the face of the genocide policies committed against them, Shamo confirmed that Yazidi women in NE Syria are now organizing themselves to stand against all forms of violence on women.
