The Lebanese army handed over about 70 Syrians, including officers of various ranks in the former regime forces, in the presence of a Lebanese security delegation through the Arida crossing located between Lebanon and Syria in the Tartous countryside.

According to SOHR sources, 3 buses belonging to the Lebanese General Security brought in the detainees, accompanied by cars belonging to a delegation from the military intelligence and the Lebanese General Security, headed by a colonel from the Lebanese General Security.

They were handed over to the Syrian interim government.

According to sources, the officers and personnel were arrested yesterday for entering the Byblos area in Lebanon "illegally".

Earlier, the Joint Operations Command in Iraq announced the return of 1,905 officers and members of the former regime forces and their handover to the Syrian side, after they fled following the fall of the regime of the ousted president, Bashar al-Assad.
