“ Leader’s Freedom is the freedom of every woman struggling for dignity ,justice”

Members of the Zenobia Women’s Gathering Council in Raqqa Canton, part of North and East Syria, referred to Ocalan’s call for peace and a democratic society issued on February 27 of this year, stressing that the success of that initiative depends on creating the necessary conditions and guarantees that enable him to play his role effectively foremost among them, his physical release.

Council member Madeline al-Sheikh stated that the success of any true political process in the region is tied to the physical freedom of Abdullah Ocalan.

She said: “He is the founder of a democratic project aimed at achieving justice and equality among people, and his physical absence constitutes a major obstacle to implementing this project on the ground.”

She added: “Certain conditions must be met for the leader to fulfill his political role effectively, the foremost being his immediate and public release to ensure his direct participation in shaping fair political solutions.”

Madeline continued: “The physical freedom of the leader is an essential demand at this stage, because he represents the thought of peace and resolution. Without him, crises will persist.”

For her part, Doaa Ibrahim, another member of the council, emphasized that women are capable of making their voices heard through campaigns, activities, and public statements.
She said: “For us, the leader’s freedom represents the freedom of every woman who aspires to live with dignity and justice.”

She further noted that Ocalan’s absence has created a political vacuum, explaining: “His vision was based on dialogue, democracy, and coexistence. Preventing him from playing his role has weakened the prospects for peace and stability.”

Ibrahim concluded with an appeal to the international community, saying:

“We call on the world to take serious humanitarian and political action to end the leader’s isolation and secure his release, because continuing his detention perpetuates injustice against all peoples yearning for freedom and peace.”

Similarly, Nadima Mohammed underscored the importance of intensifying women’s efforts in this regard.

She said: “We continue organizing awareness activities and seminars to bring women’s voices to both local and international audiences, and to participate in joint campaigns demanding the leader’s physical freedom.”

She added: “Political pressures and international interests are what hinder a fair stance, but we believe in the power of the people’s will. The voices of women will ultimately compel the world to act through unifying efforts among all communities, spreading awareness of Abdullah Ocalan’s humanist philosophy and project, and turning his cause and freedom into a national and universal demand that expresses the will of all who strive for peace and dignity.
