Leader Ocalan sends 2 gifts to Syriac, Yazidi communities

Leader Abdullah Ocalan, imprisoned in the high-security Imrali F-type prison, met with his family on October 31.

The meeting included his sister Fatma Ocalan, his nephew Ali Ocalan, his great-niece Berfin Ocalan, and Peoples' Democracy and Equality Party's deputy for Urfa, Omer Ocalan.

During the meeting, Fatma Ocalan has seen her brother for the first time after 11 years, and Leader Abdullah Ocalan has seen his great-niece Berfin Ocalan for the first time.

Speaking to Mesopotamia News Agency, Ali Ocalan stated that the meeting was held in response to a special request from Leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Ali Ocalan made clear that they traveled to Imrali by ferry from Mudanya, a journey that took approximately 50 minutes.

The nephew of leader Abdullah Ocalan, Ali Ocalan, stated that Abdullah Ocalan and his family were deeply moved during the meeting, saying, "His health condition was good, his morale was high, and his energy was excellent."

Ali Oalan added that during the meeting, Abdullah Ocalan presented two pens to the Syriac and Yazidi communities and sent them his personal greetings.

Ali Ocalan stated that leader Abdullah Ocalan was carrying two gift boxes during the meeting. He said, "We didn't know what was inside. When he opened the first box, he took out a pen and gave it to my daughter, Berfin. I believe it was his own pen. He told Berfin that it was out of ink. It was a beautiful pen, and he gave it to her, saying, 'This is for you.' Then he took out a rosary from the box and looked at me, saying, 'In the previous meeting, I gave you a rosary, but this time I will keep it for myself,' and put it in his pocket. After that, he opened the second box, which contained three more pens. He took the pens and gave them to Omar, saying, 'One is for the Syriac community; give it to them in my name and convey my greetings to them. The second is for the Yazidi community, and I convey my greetings to them. The third, you will give to someone, and convey my greetings to them.'"

Ali Ocalan explained that they had their first meeting with leader Abdullah Ocalan five months ago, saying, "Since then, he has lost some weight. He was very active, positive, and smiling, and he was in good spirits, saying things to my mother while laughing. My mother was also very happy to see the leader and she was laughing. This time, my mother was very determined, saying, 'Whatever happens, they must take me; I will go upstairs myself, I will go again.' My mother was also a little moved; they hugged each other."
