Leader Ocalan: Saleh Muslim will remain undying star of struggle

Leader Abdullah Ocalan sent a condolence letter to the funeral ceremony of politician and co-chair of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) Saleh Muslim, held at 12 March Stadium in Qamishlo, attended by large crowds of local residents.

The text of the letter reads:

“When comrade Saleh Muslim left this world, I received the news of the passing of dear comrade Saleh Muslim in the evening, and until morning I tried to honor his memory and struggle. Undoubtedly, for his children, relatives, and all his comrades, he has now become immortal. He lived for his people and homeland as he should, and he has been immortalized.

He was a true patriot for the land of Syria. Fully Kurdish with the Kurds; an indispensable friend to the Arabs; a true brother to the Turks. With the Assyrians, Armenians, Circassians — all peoples, religions, and sects — he made human partnership an inseparable part of his life.

He was and will remain a cornerstone in Rojava.

I see him as the twin of Sırrı Süreyya

we lost in the peace and democratic society process. On this basis, he will remain the undying star of struggle and peace.

The testimony of Saleh Muslim is not a loss. On the contrary, it is a true strength that will forever continue to empower all our people, all peoples, friends, and comrades.
