Lawyers renew request to visit Leader Ocalan

Leader Abdullah Ocalan's brother, Mehmet Ocalan, and the brothers of Omar Hayri Kunar, Hamili Yildirim and Yesi Aktaş submitted a new meeting request to the Imrali Prison Directorate in order to meet with them.

Leader Abdullah Ocalan's brother, Muhammad Ocalan,and Mazloum Deng submitted a request to the Bursa Public Prosecutor's Office and the Imrali Prison Directorate in order to meet with his brother.

The detainee Omar Hayri Kunar’s brother, Ali Kunar, Hamili Yildirim’s brother, Polat Yildirim, and Veysi Aktaş’s sister, Meliha Aktaş, also submitted request to the same institutions.

Twice a week, lawyers visit the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Imrali Prison Directorate for meetings, but their requests are systematically left unanswered.

The Turkish authorities banned lawyers from meeting with Leader Abdullah Ocalan for another six months, and the content of the decision was not revealed to the lawyers under the pretext of “security,” according to what the lawyers announced yesterday.

Since March 2021, no information has been received about Leader Abdullah Ocalan, who has been detained in Imrali prison since 1999.
