“Kurdish unity is priority in facing challenges”

Intellectuals and politicians from Girkê Legê said the region is going through a highly sensitive phase amid rapid changes and rising international tensions, with various parties seeking to advance their interests. This highlights the importance of Kurdish unity in addressing these challenges.

In an interview with ANHA Agency, Idris Malla Sharif, an administrator in the Democratic Union Party, said the current stage makes Kurdish unity a necessity to safeguard the existence of the Kurdish people.

He noted that recent attacks have demonstrated Kurdish cohesion in the face of threats, stressing the need to turn this solidarity into real political partnership, especially amid the “special war” aimed at distorting the image of the Rojava Revolution. He called for a unified stance in response.

He added that protecting the achievements of the revolution and the sacrifices of the martyrs is a collective responsibility, emphasizing that Kurdish unity remains the most important way to confront dangers, in line with Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s vision on the importance of solidarity.

For his part, Adnan Berko, a member of the Girkê Legê Intellectuals Union, said the region is undergoing profound transformations, making Kurdish solidarity essential to face existential challenges.

Berko stressed the need to prioritize the public interest, calling on political parties to overcome their differences and unify their efforts. He said this would strengthen the ability to respond to any potential threat.

He concluded by stressing that protecting the gains of the Rojava Revolution and all parts of Kurdistan requires a unified position from Kurdish forces, warning of major risks facing the Kurdish people if division continues.
