Kurdish parties in Rojava condemn attack of Peshmerga forces and call for unity

The Kurdish parties in Rojava issued a statement to the public regarding the attack on Peshmerga forces in southern Kurdistan, which resulted in the martyrdom of six and injuries to 45 others.

The statement read: “In these sensitive international circumstances, amidst the birth pangs of a new world order and the tensions and conflicts plaguing the Middle East, our Kurdish people are subjected to repeated and coordinated attacks by multiple parties aiming to break our will and weaken our presence in all parts of Kurdistan.

We have recently witnessed a direct attack on the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Rojava, an Iranian attack on the Kurdish resistance in Eastern Kurdistan, and repeated attacks on the Kurdistan Region. The latest of these heinous attacks was the targeting of a group of Peshmerga fighters by an Iranian-backed militia, resulting in their martyrdom as they defended their land and dignity.

We, the Kurdish parties in Rojava, condemn in the strongest terms these repeated attacks targeting the Kurdish people in all parts of our homeland, and in particular what happened today in the Kurdistan Region. We consider these attacks unforgivable crimes against the will of a people struggling for freedom, dignity, and peace.

These attacks are not mere isolated incidents, but rather part of a scheme aimed at ending the Kurdish dream of building a secure and democratic future for its sons and daughters.

Our Kurdish people, who have offered thousands of martyrs in defense of their human values ​​and peace throughout the region, will not bow to these aggressive policies.

We are also well aware that the only salvation for our people at this critical juncture lies in our unity. Kurdish unity is not an option, but a vital lifeline to confront the existential challenges we face.

On this sorrowful occasion, we call upon all Kurdish parties, forces, and activists in Rojava and the rest of Kurdistan to overcome their differences and unite their efforts and ranks in order to protect the rights of our people, honor the blood of our martyrs, and build a future worthy of our people's historic sacrifices.

Our Kurdish people will not be defeated as long as they remain steadfast in their unity and free will.
