Kurdish Front affirms commitment to martyrs’ legacy on its 12th anniversary

On the occasion of its 12th anniversary, the General Command of the Kurdish Front Forces reaffirmed its commitment to its heroic struggle in defending the people. It pledged, "We will never forget our martyrs who gave their lives for this homeland, and we remain steadfast in our promise, continuing on the same path and principles."

Today, the General Command of the Kurdish Front Forces issued a statement to the public on the occasion of the 12th anniversary of its founding, which reads:

"The Kurdish Front Forces were established on January 22, 2013, bringing together all components of the Syrian people in the regions of Shahba, Raqqa, Tabqa, Manbij, and Aleppo, including Kurds, Arabs, and Turkmen, communities that had long suffered under the tyranny of the Ba'ath regime and Assad's rule. Later, these regions fell under the control of ISIS, which exploited Islam to achieve its own goals.

For 12 years, the Kurdish Front Forces have shouldered the responsibilities of the oppressed people, vowing to be forces for the victory of the Syrian people and taking on the mission of liberating Syrian lands from the clutches of the Ba'ath regime and terrorism.

The Kurdish Front Forces participated in liberating several neighborhoods in Aleppo, including Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh, from the oppression and tyranny of the Assad regime in 2013. They also took part in various battles in the Syrian revolution, including in Layramoun and around the towns of Nubl and Zahraa, as well as in the liberation of Shahba.

They also contributed to the defense and liberation of Kobani and its surrounding areas from ISIS terrorism as part of the Euphrates Volcano operations room. Our forces played a crucial role in the formation of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), believing in its project to build a democratic Syria. As part of this effort, our forces participated in several battles, including the liberation of Raqqa, Tal Abyad, Serrin, and the 'Resistance of the Age' battle in Afrin.

The Kurdish Front Forces continue their struggle and heroic journey to this day in defense of the people. We will never forget our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for this homeland. Today, we renew our pledge of loyalty to them and their pure blood, affirming that we remain steadfast in our promise, continuing on the same path and principles."
