Kongra Star in Jazira: We demand Leader Ocalan be granted right to hope

On Sunday, the Kongra Star in the city of Tel Brak in Jazira canton issued a public statement on the situation of Leader Abdullah Ocalan. The statement was attended by the Kongra members and representatives of civil society organizations and political parties.

The Kongra member Heba al-Ahmad read the statement, which emphasized that "Turkey ignores international laws that guarantee detainees' right to hope, despite the 25th anniversary of Leader Abdullah Ocalan's imprisonment and the availability of legal conditions for his release."

The statement called on international organizations to hold the Turkish government accountable for its continued violation of international law, calling for urgent action to ensure justice and grant the leader his physical freedom.

The statement concluded by confirming the need to intensify efforts, popular activities, and signature campaigns to put pressure on Ankara, considering that popular and feminist determination is the way to compel the Turkish state to respond to demands and end the isolation imposed on Leader Abdullah Ocalan. In a related context, members of the Kongra Star in the city of Jel Agha delivered a statement in front of their center, denouncing the ongoing isolation imposed on Leader Abdullah Ocalan, describing it as a flagrant violation of human rights and international law.

The statement, read by the Kongra Star member Sara Ahmed, assured that the continued isolation reflects the continued pressure on the Kurdish people and hinders peace efforts among peoples. The statement also praised the "democratic nation" project proposed by Leader Abdullah Ocalan, highlighting its role in protecting the rights of the communities of North and East Syria.

The members concluded the statement by calling on human rights and international organizations to work to achieve justice and freedom for the leader, emphasizing that the freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan is the foundation of women's liberation. They chanted slogans, "Women, Life, Freedom" and "No Life Without The Leader."
