The Kongra Star organized a memorial ceremony for the young woman, Jina Amini, in the April 4th Park in Hasaka. The ceremony was attended by members of the Kongra Star and women's organizations from the cities of Hasaka, al-Shaddadi, Dirbasiyah, Tel Tamr, al-Hol, and the town of al-Arisha.

During the ceremony, the Kongra Star issued a statement read in Kurdish by the teacher Linda Ali, and in Arabic by the member of the Kongra Star Coordination in Hasaka Siham Mala Ali.

The statement emphasized that the commemoration of Jina Amini's death comes as part of celebrating her sacrifices for freedom and a dignified life, and the demonstration of women's will in confronting violations and tyranny that seek to obliterate their existence and their intellectual and liberating resistance.

The statement added that Jina Amini was arrested on September 13, 2022, while heading with her family from Saqqez city in East Kurdistan to Tehran to visit her relatives. She was stopped by a patrol of the so-called "morality police" on the grounds that she was not wearing the hijab properly. She was transferred to the Vozara Detention Center in Tehran, where she was subjected to torture and severe beatings until she fell into a coma for three days before passing away on September 16, 2022.

The statement noted that Jina Amini's martyrdom sparked nationwide protests in Iran and exposed the Iranian regime's ongoing human rights violations, particularly its systematic abuses against women.

It emphasized that women's movements in North and East Syria view these ongoing violations as a threat to women activists, as many are subjected to arrest and execution simply for their struggle for a dignified life and a free, democratic society in which justice and equality prevail.

The statement called for putting an end to all violations and arrests in Iran and the immediate release of all female prisoners, especially female political activists whose fate remains unknown. It called on international human rights organizations to intervene quickly and immediately to put an end to these repressive practices.

The statement emphasized that women are the foundation of society, and that protecting their rights and ensuring their dignity is the way to ensure a free and dignified life and build a free, democratic society based on justice and equality.

In conclusion, the statement emphasized the continued solidarity of the women of North and East Syria with women in Iran and around the world, dedicating efforts to combating oppression and violations and achieving freedom for women and their right to freedom of expression and struggle.
