KNK: Let's celebrate Labor Day with Newroz spirit

In a statement, the KNK congratulated the arrival of May 1st, International Workers' Day.

The statement emphasized, "May Day is a symbol of the ongoing Kurdish and Kurdistani struggle over the centuries to achieve freedom and dignity. The Kurdish and Kurdistani people have earned this day through their great efforts. On this occasion, we extend our congratulations to the guerrilla fighters and Peshmerga who sacrificed their lives for the just cause of Kurdistan."

It added that, despite "repressive regimes attempting to prevent the celebration of this holiday and obstruct the struggle of peoples and workers, these practices have not deterred the toilers from their resistance. The Kurdish people have long celebrated this day with great enthusiasm, considering it a day of labor and struggle."

The statement noted that "this year's celebration comes amid a new phase of negotiations and dialogue aimed at strengthening Kurdish unity, through holding conferences and meetings in Rojava and Europe to unify the Kurdistani position, along with efforts to hold national conferences in the four parts of Kurdistan to unify efforts and protect achievements from external conspiracies."

The Kurdistan National Congress called on the Kurdish people to actively participate in May Day celebrations in the spirit of Newroz, to express rejection of occupation and attacks, and to affirm unity and support for the forces defending Kurdistan.
