After journalists covered the activity of teachers and staff at the Dekla checkpoint, the KDP prevented their return to Hawler.

Journalists had covered the protests by teachers from the Sulaymaniyah, Rania Koy, Halabja and Raperin regions, after they were moved from Sulaymaniyah to Hawler.
Journalists and activists face significant pressure from the KDP, including restricting freedom of expression and creating obstacles to their work, sometimes even arrest, according to what observers see as media reality.
Roj News quoted sources as saying that many journalists from Hawler are now in Sulaymaniyah and unable to return.
One of the journalists involved in the coverage, journalist Nabez Rashad, said on virtual media: "I was expelled by Hawler officials and prevented me from returning, I am now in Sulaymaniyah, and I thank my fellow journalists for their support."
