The Foreign Relations Committee of the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) condemned in a statement the attack carried out on Saturday by drones targeting the home of Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani in Duhok.

The statement issued by the organization reads as follows:

"The Middle East has become the epicenter of World War III, as international and regional powers transform every region into a battleground to protect and expand their interests. Although the Kurdish people have not been part of this war, regional and international policies and stances are attempting to make Kurdistan one of its battlefields. Since the beginning of this conflict, eastern, southern, and Rojava Kurdistan have become targets of attacks. In particular, southern Kurdistan has been targeted by drone and missile strikes. In this context, Peshmerga forces, economic and official institutions, and most recently, the residence of the President of the Kurdistan Region have been targeted.

As the Kurdish liberation movement, we condemn these attacks and call upon all relevant parties to assume their political and moral responsibilities to stop them. We express our condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in these attacks and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded."
