In a written statement issued by the KCK General Presidency Council on the occasion of April 4th, the birth of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, they emphasized that this date marks the herald of the liberation of the Kurdish people from the fate of genocide.

The statement reads: "The Kurdish people, women, and youth, through their enthusiastic, optimistic, and resolute stances shown in the Newroz squares and in the Amara march, will elevate their actions to the highest levels of activity and organizational strength this year. In our movement, we will make the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan the core of our struggle and will act based on this perspective. On this basis, we call on our national people, especially women and youth, as well as our dear friends, to join the struggle for the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, to intensify our organization on this basis, and to make democratic action more impactful."

The statement continues: "First, we congratulate Leader Abdullah Ocalan, women, and youth on the occasion of April 4th, as well as our people, the peoples, our friends, and the entire democratic world.

We also remember once again comrade Mustafa Dag, Massoum Karaoglan, and the martyrs of April 4th, who have become symbols of the youth loyal to Leader Abdullah Ocalan, with all respect and admiration.

Additionally, we salute those who participated in the Amara march, who adopted the values of democracy and freedom embodied in the Leader, as well as all participants in democratic activities."

The statement further emphasizes: "The Kurdish people were on the brink of annihilation and genocide until the emergence of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, who faced cultural and physical extermination, distancing them from their historical truth. On this basis, there was a policy of denial and extermination in Kurdistan, where the Kurds were granted life only within biological borders, on the condition of denying their cultural identity. The Kurdish name and culture were erased from history. In this sense, the birth of Leader Abdullah Ocalan represents a new existential birth for the Kurds, who were also slated to be erased from history. This means that our homeland, Kurdistan, has once again met with its day. Therefore, April 4th, the birthday of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, is the herald of the Kurdish people's liberation from the fate of genocide that has lasted for a century."

With the birth of Leader Abdullah Ocalan on April 4th, history in Kurdistan was rewritten. The new history of existence and freedom began through the struggle of the Kurdish people, led by the Leader, opening the path for a new era for women, peoples, and democratic society. Our people, women, and youth describe April 4th as a new birth day for themselves, and on this basis, they celebrate it everywhere, considering the Leader's birth as their own, saying "Your birth is our birth." The fact that our people attach such profound meanings to April 4th and celebrate it wherever they are, is gradually becoming a shared social value.

The democratic society and the rebirth of the Kurdish people, which began with the birth of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, also means the rebirth of the culture, religion, and identity of other peoples in the Middle East. The truth that the Kurdish people live is intertwined with the historical and social reality of our people. It is Leader Abdullah Ocalan who brought this spirit and culture of living together, social and historical brotherhood to our people. The spirit of peace and brotherhood, which once existed in the history and life of the peoples, has returned to the geography of the Middle East thanks to the Leader. In the face of the deadly winter created by nation-states, this spirit and historical-social-cultural awareness, which is developing as a democratic society and building a democratic nation under the Leadership of the Kurdish people, has become stronger today.

Our people are now heading toward the freedom of the Leader, which is the main item on their agenda. Our people want to see the Leader physically with them, expressing their determination to struggle for democracy to achieve this goal at every opportunity available to them. Of course, this truth became evident through the enthusiasm shown for the celebration of Newroz by everyone. This demand and will of our people has now become a legal fact under international law and must be properly evaluated; because the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan means the resolution of the Kurdish issue, which has lasted for a century, and the resolution of the Kurdish issue means the democratization of all of Turkey."

The Kurdish people, women, and youth, through their enthusiastic, optimistic, and resolute stances shown in the Newroz squares and in the Amara march, will elevate their actions to the highest levels of activity and organizational strength this year. In our movement, we will make the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan the core of our struggle and will act based on this perspective. On this basis, we call on our national people, especially women and youth, as well as our dear friends, to join the struggle for the physical freedom of the Leader and to intensify our organization on this basis and make democratic action more impactful."
