K. Star supports N. Kurdistan's municipalities resistance
The Coordination of the Kongra Star condemned the Turkish occupation state's seizure of three municipalities in N. Kurdistan by appointing trustees to manage them, pointing to the people's resistance and the community's struggle against these nefarious plans, celebrating the triumph of the people’s will once again.
The K. Star Coordination issued a written statement regarding the Turkish authorities' takeover of the municipality of Mardin city and the municipalities of Êlih
and Khelfeti towns in N. Kurdistan.
The statement read as follows:
"The coalition of the fascist and tyrannical Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), rooted in a mentality of conquest and control, has seized the municipalities of Êlih, Khelfeti, and Mardin in N. Kurdistan, violating the people's right to vote. Our community faces political annihilation once again. This is an assault on the co-chair system, on women's will, and on their very existence. At the K. Star, we condemn these practices and policies of trustees, and we cannot accept them in any form. We will continue our struggle and resistance in all arenas under the slogan "Women, Life, Freedom" in defense of the co-chair system, the environment, and women’s will and strength. We will always stand with you in your struggle.
The AKP and MHP powers, hostile to Kurds and women, have occupied the people's municipalities again and appointed trustees, which reflects their disregard for the will and strength of women. Out of fear of Kurdish organization and development, they enact special laws to eliminate Kurdish achievements through occupation, seizure, and control projects. We, at the K. Star, see these actions and the patriarchal and nationalist state mentality as a violation of humanity and life itself. We trust that our people will defend their dignity, freedom, and will.
Today, amidst war, invasion, looting, occupation, and murder, the coalition of the fascist AKP and MHP violates the co-chair system of the People's Equality and Democracy Party municipalities by appointing trustees to them. Their oppression surpasses that of Zahhak’s tyranny and Hitler’s fascism; they seek to destroy Kurdish achievements, break their will, and commit massacres against them through air attacks on Rojava. The Kurdish mayor of Esenyurt in Istanbul was arrested simply because he won the election with the support of the community, disregarding any recognition of democratic and free community will. It is necessary to resist these inhumane and illegal attacks, and to reject any stance other than resistance.
The Turkish state and the regime of the fascist leader Erdogan use deceptive political terms like the “solution process” to prolong their rule and escape the economic crisis. They secretly plot political genocide and violate the will of the people’s municipalities. By appointing trustees through legal means, they sought to preserve their power and navigate Turkey’s economic crisis, channeling municipal resources to fund war efforts. However, the people's resistance and the democratic community's struggle will thwart these vile occupation policies, and the people’s will shall prevail once again.
The people of Turkey and the community must certainly be liberated from this fascist regime, as building a peace and democracy project can only be achieved by resolving the Kurdish issue. The solution process will be realized through the struggle of all democratic communities. They aim to separate the leader, the Kurdish liberation movement, and the people from one another, and to incite divisions through special warfare policies, misleading propaganda, and smear campaigns. They also aim to destroy the achievements of the Rojava Revolution, resistance, struggle, and the will of the Kurdish people and democratic forces by imposing strict isolation on Leader Abdullah Ocalan.
The only solution is to unite our democratic strength, resistance, and struggle. This regime and the government of the AKP and MHP must be overthrown by the power of the people. Resistance must be strengthened against the severe isolation, occupation, the seizure of municipal will, and the trusteeship system. We must expand the fronts that represent the people's will, intensify popular resistance, and respond historically to attacks on women’s will with the philosophy of ‘Women, Life, Freedom.’"
