Jordanian citizens disappear in Syria, Jordanian Foreign Ministry investigates

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates reported that it is following up on the information regarding the disappearance of two Jordanians the day before yesterday inside Syrian territory.

Contact was lost with the Jordanian travel drivers Maher al-Soufi and Mohammad Oweida since Sunday in Syria, after they delivered packages from Amman to Damascus. They were about to return to Jordan with passengers on August 26th. 

The Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in Jordan revealed that it is monitoring the information regarding the disappearance of two Jordanian citizens within Syrian territory, according to the Jordanian news agency Petra. 

The Director of the Operations and Consular Affairs Directorate, Sufyan al-Qudat, indicated that the ministry, through the Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs and the Kingdom's embassy in Damascus, is coordinating with the relevant Syrian authorities to search for missing citizens in Syrian territory.

Sufyan al-Qudat confirmed that the Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs is in continuous communication with the families of the missing individuals, noting that the ministry is actively coordinating with all relevant parties to locate them and ensure their safe return to the kingdom as soon as possible.
