Jazira residents: Transitional Govt. should dialogue with people, not attack them

The residents of Jazira canton expressed their condemnation of the attacks launched by factions affiliated with the Syrian Transitional Government on the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods of Aleppo. This condemnation came on the sidelines of demonstrations held on Tuesday in various cities across the canton to denounce the attacks.

Fella Marwan, forcibly displaced from Afrin and Shahba, denounced the attacks on Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh. She affirmed that the residents and military forces are continuing to defend their neighborhoods.

She pointed out that the factions affiliated with the Syrian Transitional Government had violated the agreements for the second time by imposing a siege on the two neighborhoods. She emphasized the continuation of the protests and the demand for protection of the residents.

For his part, Abdel Rahman Shehadeh, a resident of Amuda, considered the attacks, which followed a visit by a Turkish delegation to Damascus, a violation of the agreements and aimed at undermining the security and stability in the region.

He affirmed that the residents are continuing their resistance against the attacks and expressed his solidarity with the residents of the two neighborhoods and his participation in the protests.

Salamat Remo, the member of the training committee of the Kongra Star in the city of Jel Agha, condemned the attacks carried out by factions affiliated with the Ministry of Defense of the Transitional Government, as well as factions linked to Turkey.

She praised the resilience of the residents and their solidarity with the Internal Security Forces in protecting the population despite the siege imposed on the two neighborhoods.

Yasmin Diab, from the Arab community, also condemned the attacks and the siege imposed on Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh, considering these actions to be targeting the unity of the community's various components.

She affirmed her support for the residents' steadfastness in the face of the attacks.

Similarly, Mohamed Latif, the resident of Derik city, stated that the residents reiterate their condemnation of the attacks carried out by the Turkish-backed factions on the two neighborhoods.

He affirmed his support for the Syrian Democratic Forces within the framework of building a democratic and decentralized Syria.

For her part, Sawsan Farhan pointed out that the components of the North and East Syria region; Kurds, Arabs and Syriacs, continue to adhere to the unity of the components and build a democratic system, and to stand against any attempts targeting the gains of the region.

Jamil Morad from Girke Lege confirmed that the attacks came after the Turkish Foreign Minister's visit, and called on the Transitional Government to pursue a comprehensive national dialogue with all components of the Syrian people instead of engaging in dialogue with Turkey.

Lam'a Mohamed, forcibly displaced from Afrin, stated that the Transitional Government's practices against civilians are not different from those of the previous regime.

She indicated that the Transitional Government launched the attack on the residential neighborhoods to appease the Turkish occupation state, rather than opening a dialogue and creating the conditions for the return of displaced persons to their homes.
