Today, a patrol belonging to Israeli forces advanced toward the Tarnageh–Hader road in the northern countryside of Quneitra province, marking a new development that reflects increased military activity along the southern border strip of Syria.

This incursion comes amid a state of popular anticipation and widespread caution among residents, alongside the absence of any official response from the Syrian transitional government and silence from its media regarding these increasingly frequent movements.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported yesterday a surge in Israeli aerial activity, including reconnaissance aircraft flying over Quneitra, and the dropping of flares over the Harsh Jubayliyah area in western Daraa countryside, near the city of Nawa, adjacent to Quneitra.

The SOHR warned that Israel’s escalation in the south reflects rising border tensions, cautioning that the area may become an open battleground for regional conflict, given the transitional government’s inability to enforce real security control or prevent such breaches.

On July 29, Israeli forces had previously advanced with four military vehicles from within the Golan Heights, reaching the newly established medical point in the village of Al-Hamidiyah in northern Quneitra countryside.
