Israeli forces conduct search operation in western Daraa

On Monday, Israeli forces carried out a security operation inside Syrian territory, as a military unit encircled the western neighborhood of Maariya village, located within the Yarmouk Basin area in western Daraa countryside, and began a broad search operation covering several homes and streets in the area.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) two military vehicles belonging to the Israeli forces entered the village streets after leaving the “Al-Jazira” barracks located on the outskirts of Maariya, where Israeli forces have been stationed since December 2024.

The report indicated that the two vehicles patrolled several streets in the village, accompanied by a drone that flew over the area for a short period, sparking concern among local residents who continue to live in a state of tension due to repeated incursions.

Over the past three days, the nearby Quneitra countryside has witnessed six consecutive incursions in which Israeli forces deployed dozens of military vehicles and tanks, setting up temporary checkpoints to inspect the IDs of civilians and passing cars.

These operations have placed increasing pressure on residents amid the continued absence of any official response from the Syrian transitional government to curb the repeated violations, raising questions about the persistence of this troubling silence.
