Israeli army deploys in southern Syria to support Druze

The Israeli army has announced its deployment in southern Syria to prevent the entry of “hostile forces into Druze areas,” without providing details about the number of troops or the scope of the deployment.

Today, the Israeli army stated that it had deployed in southern Syria, saying it was prepared to prevent the entry of “hostile forces into Druze areas.”

In a statement, it said, “We continue to monitor developments while maintaining readiness for defense and various scenarios,” without specifying the number of deployed forces or the extent of their presence.

The army also noted: “Five Syrian Druze citizens were evacuated overnight to receive treatment in Israel,” adding that “the injured were transferred to Ziv Medical Center in Safed after being wounded in Syrian territory.”

Earlier, the Israeli army had announced the targets of its airstrikes across various areas in Syria, stating in a release: “We struck a military site, anti-aircraft guns, and surface-to-air missile infrastructure in Syria.”

It confirmed: “The Israeli army will continue its operations as necessary to defend Israeli civilians.”
