Israeli airstrikes target Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon

The Israeli army stated that it had begun launching airstrikes against Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, after issuing warnings to evacuate buildings in two villages.

In a brief military statement, the Israeli army explained: "The IDF is currently attacking Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanon."

The Israeli army had previously announced that it would attack Hezbollah military infrastructure throughout southern Lebanon in the near future and ordered residents of the villages of Deir Kifa and Shahour to evacuate.

This latest escalation comes after 13 people were killed in an airstrike on a Palestinian refugee camp in southern Lebanon yesterday, specifically in the Ain al-Hilweh camp near Sidon, according to a statement from the Lebanese Ministry of Health. Hezbollah condemned the attack in a message to the Lebanese state as a "crime and a reprehensible act."
