Israeli warplanes launched an airstrike targeting an apartment in the Haret Hreik neighborhood of Beirut's southern suburbs. The strike caused extensive damage to the targeted building and sparked fires on the upper floors.

According to initial reports, the strike targeted a Hezbollah commander named Abu Ali al-Tabtabai. Hezbollah has yet to issue an official statement regarding the fate of the targeted individual or the nature of the attack.

Rescue and civil defense teams are working to recover the wounded and extinguish the fires, amid heightened security in the area.

Israeli aircraft continue to fly intensively over Lebanese skies following the strike.

A video circulating on social media shows a large amount of debris and dust from the Israeli airstrike, as well as damage to parked cars near the targeted site.

This is the second such attack today. Earlier, a person was killed when an Israeli drone targeted him while he was carrying out repair work in the town of Aita al-Shaab in southern Lebanon.
