The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement denying reports that recent communications concerning the Syrian file, conducted with US participation, had resulted in any agreements or understandings between the two sides.

The statement affirmed that what occurred was limited to a series of meetings and communications organized under Washington’s sponsorship to discuss issues related to Syria, emphasizing that they remained within the framework of preliminary talks without achieving any breakthrough.

The statement noted that circulating reports about the existence of an agreement or tangible progress in these talks were inaccurate, adding that the communications fall within a broader diplomatic effort led by the United States in the region.
