Israel continues to block roads, excavation areas in Southern Syria

The Quneitra countryside witnessed new Israeli military activity today, including the closure of a main road in the south and bulldozing operations in the north. This comes amid escalating Israeli military activity along the border with the Golan Heights.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights SOHR reported that an Israeli force blocked the road between the villages of Kodna and al-Asbah in the southern Quneitra countryside by erecting an earthen berm in the area, before later withdrawing.

At the same time, bulldozing operations carried out by Israeli forces since the morning in al-Shahar forest area near the town of Jabata al-Khashab in the northern Quneitra countryside ceased after bulldozing large areas of dense forest cover near the ceasefire line.

Earlier today, Israeli forces deployed military vehicles and heavy bulldozers to the same area and began leveling land planted with pine trees, estimated at no less than 500 dunams.

Israeli activity is concentrated in areas adjacent to the border strip, specifically within the disengagement line, amidst a state of anticipation regarding possible further developments on the ground.
