ISIS attack on Internal Security's checkpoint foiled in Deir ez-Zor countryside
The Internal Security Forces foiled an attack by ISIS mercenaries on one of their checkpoints in the town of Al-Shuhail, in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor city, affirming: “Our forces will continue to pursue the remnants of terrorism until they are completely eliminated.”

The Media Center of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria published a statement today on its official website regarding the foiling of an ISIS mercenary attack on one of their checkpoints.
The statement read: “As part of the increasing attacks by ISIS terrorist cells, a terrorist group carried out an assault at 10:30 p.m. on Friday, targeting the Al-Attal Roundabout checkpoint in the town of Al-Shuhail using a motorcycle and automatic weapons. Our forces repelled the attack, forcing the mercenaries to flee without causing any injuries or damage.”
It added: “ISIS cells have recently intensified their attacks across most towns and villages in the eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside, most notably Al-Shuhail, Dhiban, and Al-Busayrah.”
The statement concluded by reaffirming: “Our forces will continue to pursue the remnants of terrorism until they are completely eradicated,” and it called on residents to cooperate and report any suspicious activity to preserve the security and stability of the region.
