ISF reveal records of 5 members' carried out self-sacrifice operations in Aleppo

The General Command of the Internal Security Forces (ISF) revealed the records of 5 of its members, both male and female, who were martyred while repelling attacks launched by the mercenaries of the Interim Government supported by the Turkish occupation on Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh and Bani Zeid, in Aleppo.

The media center of the Internal Security Forces issued a statement to the public opinion on Wednesday, in which it disclosed the records of 5 members who martyred in the Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh and Bani Zeid resistance in Aleppo. The statement included,

"We begin by commemorating the fedayeen of our resistant people: Deniz Jiya, Hawar Qandil, Rojbîn Hasakah, Delbrîn Qamishlo, and Frashîn Afrin, who ascended to the rank of martyrdom with utmost self-sacrifice during the resistance of the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh. We bow in reverence to their struggle. First and foremost, we extend our condolences to the Leader of Freedom, Abdullah Öcalan, to the families of the martyrs, and to all our patriotic people.

Since January 6, 2026, under a genocidal framework and with the approval of hegemonic powers, gangs affiliated with the Turkish occupying state and mercenaries of the transitional government launched an inhumane attack. All types of aerial and ground weapons were used against these two small neighborhoods. In the face of these attacks, our leaders and fighters have not abandoned their stance of refusing surrender from the very first day until now; they have remained steadfast.

In this war of honor, the fedayeen Deniz, Hawar, Rojbîn, Delbrîn, and Frashîn took the front lines with unbreakable determination to achieve victory. With steadfast memory and strong faith, they turned to revenge, becoming a powerful response to the special war and genocidal policies pursued by the occupation gangs against the Kurdish people and all its components. They joined the war of honor with high morale and unyielding enthusiasm, instilling strong morale in the hearts of their people through this stance.

With extremely limited means and only individual weapons, they led the residents of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh and repelled numerous attacks by the gangs through diverse methods. In the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh, they made themselves shields in revenge for thousands of years and defeated the occupying enemy with the philosophy of “Woman, Life, Freedom.”

Facing the strength of this people embodied in its fighters and prominent leaders, the occupying enemy, driven by its jihadist mentality, resorted—after realizing its inability to confront the people of Aqîd and Arîn—to all forms of inhumane practices. It attacked the people with ground and aerial techniques and toxic gases. Despite the siege imposed by these gangs on the fighters and the resisting people, our contemporary leaders did not abandon their revolutionary stance and defended the values of their people until the very last moment.

The commander of this fedayeen unit, Hawar Qandil, was a source of morale for all his comrades at the beginning of the war, thanks to his intense enthusiasm grounded in the unconquerable philosophy of Leader Abdullah Öcalan. All comrades entered this war with great will and courage. Hawar distributed his comrades according to the dynamics of warfare, turning every position into an impregnable fortress, and Hawar’s determination became the determination of the entire group.

After a fierce battle, Commander Hawar was wounded. When the other fedayeen saw that Commander Hawar was injured yet had not abandoned his position or his comrades, Deniz assumed leadership and fought with her team according to the course of the battle. As the fighting intensified and the area they occupied became narrow and besieged, Commander Deniz uttered these historic words to the war coordinator:

“At this moment, we are besieged by the enemy, which poses a grave danger to the entire world and the people of the region, especially women, with massive tanks. Numerous gangs are attacking us. So far, we have developed different methods to confront them, but now we are using our ammunition very cautiously so it does not run out. It is essential that all our comrades and our people know that we will fight until our last breath, no matter what happens. Calls for surrender are being made to us, but just as Zarîfa and Besê leapt from the cliffs of Dersim, and Rendkhan ended his life on the Malabati Bridge and then rebuilt life, we will never retreat from resistance. Now, we all have a bomb that we have dismantled. If we realize that our ammunition has been exhausted, the five of us will carry out a fedayeen operation side by side against the fascist enemy that has committed countless crimes against our comrades and our people. No matter what happens, nothing is more important than protecting the dignity of our people.”

The identities of the martyrs who have become our legacy in free life:

Commander Deniz Jiya, from the city of Afrin, was born in Damascus. She was raised within Afrin’s national culture and possessed a radiant personality reflecting Afrin’s vivid beauty. She was nurtured with moral and political values from an early age and grew up as an only child in a loving family. She was an outstanding student and deepened her thinking through the science of women and society at a young age. She grasped the truth of the Kurdish people’s cause and the region’s cause and joined the thought of Leader Abdullah Öcalan. The enemy attacks on Afrin, Serekaniye, Shahba, and Manbij deeply affected her, prompting her to join the ranks of struggle in 2024 with the aim of becoming a free woman leading her society. Time passed quickly in her life, and she grew rapidly. Woman, nature, and the universe became the language of life for her. For this reason, she deeply connected with the life of Leader Abdullah Öcalan and sought to build a socialist stance within herself as a solution to all the problems facing the region and the Middle East.

Commander Hawar Qandil was born in the city of Kobani. In his childhood, he witnessed the revolution and the suffering of his people under marginalization and denial of identity. He grew up in a hardworking, patriotic family. His deep impact was felt wherever he went due to his perseverance. He repeatedly confronted the brutality of ISIS and vowed to resist all enemy attacks. This diligent young man, who experienced life’s harshness early on, transformed as a commander into a firm and strong personality. Hawar’s sacrifice holds a leading place wherever he is remembered. Before joining the ranks of struggle, he participated in many revolutionary activities. Following enemy attacks on Shahba and Manbij, he decided to engage in an unprecedented struggle and joined the ranks in 2024. His tactical skill and commitment to societal values generated immense morale within himself. All his comrades affirmed that failure was impossible with Hawar, whose very presence became a solution to all problems.

Fedayeen Rojbîn Amara was born in the city of Hasakah and raised in a patriotic family from the Surki tribe, rooted in the culture of the mother-woman. She became acquainted with the ideas of Leader Abdullah Öcalan during the Rojava Revolution in Kurdistan and joined the ranks of struggle in 2025 to defend the revolution. She embodied in her personality Öcalan’s principles regarding women and participated with great enthusiasm in all intellectual and military activities. As she delved deeper into history, her anger toward the enemy of the Kurdish people intensified. She built her personality through understanding the enemy and refined it with her courageous and confident stance, becoming a pioneer in building a meaningful life.

Fedayeen Delbrîn Qamishlo was born in the city of Darbasiyah and belongs to the Omari tribe, known for its struggle against the bloodthirsty enemy. He was raised in a family committed to ancestral values and learned the truth of heroic martyrs from an early age, which profoundly shaped his character. He approached life with humility and purity of heart. His dream was for all components of North and East Syria to live together without being killed daily. Driven by his dream of a free and equal life, he joined the ranks of struggle in 2025 to understand the socialism of Leader Abdullah Öcalan. He participated in life with great passion, making life itself beautiful in his presence.

Fedayeen Frashîn Afrin was born in the city of Afrin and raised within the culture of her patriotic people. Her talent in arts and literature emerged early due to her curious personality. Despite her young age, her strong character in childhood made her a leader among her peers. With her smile and enthusiasm, she always created an atmosphere of love and solidarity. Thanks to her intelligence and insight, she developed intellectually at a rapid pace. She rejected any conventional role or life imposed by society, defended the values of her community and the legacy of the martyrs of the revolution, and joined the ranks of struggle in 2025. Through the thought of Leader Abdullah Öcalan, she developed remarkably in military and intellectual aspects in a short time. She longed to understand the language of the universe and life and to discover her truth as a woman in order to build a new life from its ashes. Her bond with woman and life sharpened her thinking, and as her ideas became clearer, her determination to struggle planted faith in success in the hearts of her comrades.

After Commander Deniz, Commander Hawar, Rojbîn, Delbrîn, and Frashîn carried out their fedayeen operation in history, the mercenaries committed savage acts against the bodies of our martyrs, mutilating them. They seek to crush the dignity of the Kurdish people and the peoples of the region through these inhumane acts, as witnessed repeatedly throughout the history of the Kurdish people’s struggle. When they realized that the leader of this unique war was a revolutionary woman, Deniz Jiya, who prevented two small neighborhoods from falling into the hands of this bloodthirsty enemy, they committed brutal acts devoid of any moral restraint and threw our commander from the high building where she carried out her operation. They sought to destroy the honor of a woman fighter and many fighters in that building, but our commander revived honor through her death and defended the dignity of her people in a decisive response to the occupying, bloodthirsty enemy.

We remember with gratitude and respect the leaders of this cause and their sacrifices—Deniz, Hawar, Rojbîn, Delbrîn, and Frashîn—and we pledge to the Leader, to the women who did not bow, to the men who did not retreat, and to the cries of children that rose in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh, that their decision will be our decision. We will not stop until we avenge them and fulfill their dreams. We will crown their determination with victory.
