ISF extends security measures in Jazira

The General Command of the Internal Security Forces – Hasaka Governorate issued a statement regarding the extension of security measures implemented during the Eid al-Fitr and Newroz holidays this year. The statement included,

"To our people and public opinion

In accordance with the requirements of the public interest and our commitment to providing the utmost safety and security for our people during the holiday period, and given the recent developments that have led to the postponement of Newroz celebrations in several cities, the previously implemented security and precautionary measures are extended.

This extension aims to ensure that the celebrations proceed in a stable atmosphere and to prevent any disruptions that might disrupt these national occasions. The following measures are therefore extended:

The ban on trucks and tankers entering cities and towns is extended until 6:00 PM on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

The ban on the movement of oil tankers is extended until Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 6:00 PM.

The ban on the movement of all types of motorcycles, including military motorcycles, is extended until 6:00 AM on Thursday, March 26, 2026.

This extension aims to ensure that the celebrations proceed in a stable atmosphere and to prevent any disruptions that might mar these national occasions. The following measures are therefore extended:

The ban on trucks and tankers entering cities and towns is extended until 6:00 PM on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

The ban on the movement of oil tankers is extended until Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 6:00 PM.

The ban on the movement of all types of motorcycles, including military motorcycles, is extended until 6:00 AM on Thursday, March 26, 2026.

The transport of authorized medical and relief supplies between cities and towns is permitted.

Outside of applicable laws and regulations, the firing of live ammunition by citizens, military forces, and security personnel is prohibited and subject to legal accountability.

Your cooperation with our security forces and deployed patrols is the primary guarantee for the peaceful conduct of these occasions. We affirm that our forces will be vigilant against anyone who attempts to disrupt the security and stability of the region, wishing everyone safe and happy holidays.
