An Iranian court sentenced 2 Kurdish brothers, Sarwa Bashiri, 22, and Peyman Bashiri, 19, from the village of Targha in the eastern city of Bukan, to prison terms on charges of "anti-state propaganda" and belonging to anti-regime parties.

According to local media in E Kurdistan, the Second Criminal Court in Bukan sentenced Sarwa Bashiri to 8 months in prison, while her brother Peyman Bashiri was sentenced to 6 months in prison.

The brothers were arrested last September, along with a relative, Fardin Bashiri, by Iranian intelligence forces. The arrest took place without any judicial warrants and they were transferred to an intelligence security center. After weeks in detention, they were released on temporary bail pending trial hearings.
