Despite her urgent need for treatment and medical monitoring, Iranian authorities have returned political and human rights activist Narges Mohammadi to Evin prison after undergoing a delicate surgery.

The lawyer of the politician and human rights activist Narges Mohammadi, Mustafa Nelly, revealed that Narges was transferred to Evin prison after undergoing a delicate surgery, and stressed that her health condition requires continuous medical follow-up, calling on the judicial authorities to suspend her sentence and grant her immediate treatment.

In a statement published on the "X" platform for virtual communication, Nelly explained that Narges Mohammadi, 52, underwent surgery to remove a bone tumor in the upper jaw, with an artificial bone fixed in its place.

And added: "The doctors recommended the need for careful medical follow-up for a period of not less than 3 months, stressing that surgery requires special care to ensure full recovery.

Nelly confirmed that he had made a formal request to suspend the prison sentence and grant his client medical leave due to her critical health condition. He hoped that the judicial authorities would respond promptly, noting that her continued detention posed a threat to her life.
