Today, Iran dismissed the American allegations concerning its missile program, calling them “major falsehoods,” just hours after President Donald Trump claimed that Tehran was developing missiles capable of reaching the United States.

The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmail Baghaei, said in a post on the platform “X”: “Everything they claim about Iran’s nuclear program, ballistic missiles, and the number of casualties during the January unrest is nothing but a repetition of major lies.”

Earlier, President Donald Trump accused Tehran of seeking to develop missiles capable of striking the United States, while emphasizing that his preferred option for addressing the confrontation with Iran remains the diplomatic path.

He stated that Iran “has already developed missiles that can threaten Europe and our bases abroad, and it is working on building missiles that will soon be capable of reaching the United States.”

Trump stressed that US policy for decades has aimed to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, adding: “Iran must not be allowed to possess a nuclear weapon, and peace through strength has proven effective.”
