The Internal Security Directorate in Kobani announced the arrest of a young man (K.A.) after he lowered the Syrian flag during a Newroz celebration.

In a statement, the Directorate confirmed that this act is completely unacceptable and does not reflect the spirit of national unity among the Syrian people of all components, noting that the incident was an individual act and does not represent any group or institution.

The Directorate called on residents to respect national symbols and uphold the values of brotherhood and social cohesion. It also emphasized that the relevant authorities will take the necessary legal measures against the individual to ensure the enforcement of the law and the protection of civil peace.

The statement concluded by stressing the importance of keeping Newroz a celebration of love and solidarity among all components of the Syrian people.
