Internal Security Forces foil ISIS cells’ attack in Deir ez-Zor

The Internal Security Forces of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria thwarted an attack by ISIS cells on one of their positions in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

The Media Center of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria published a statement today on their official website about an armed attack by ISIS cells on one of their points, stating:

"At exactly 11:00 PM on Saturday, June 7, mercenaries from ISIS cells targeted the Al-Subha police station east of Deir ez-Zor with a hand grenade, then opened fire on the protection point of the First Irrigation Canal station while fleeing.

Our forces responded to the source of fire, and no injuries were reported among them. While a patrol was leaving Al-Busayrah center to reinforce the targeted points, it was subjected to another armed attack, with no injuries reported.

This attack comes amid increased activity of ISIS cells in the region recently. Our forces deployed and conducted sweeps in the area to pursue the perpetrators and ensure security and stability."
