Internal Security Forces deny withdrawal of their personnel by buses from besieged Aleppo neighborhoods

The Internal Security Forces – Aleppo denied claims circulated by media outlets affiliated with the interim government in Syria alleging that its members were evacuated by buses from the besieged neighborhoods of Aleppo. The forces confirmed that the published images show civilians who were forcibly displaced, along with young men who were abducted and taken to an unknown destination.

The Media Center of the Internal Security Forces – Aleppo issued a statement regarding reports circulated by interim government media claiming that buses were transporting its members out of the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, stressing that these claims are entirely false.

The statement read as follows:

“In a desperate attempt to mislead public opinion, media outlets affiliated with Damascus government factions and their affiliates are circulating images of buses forcibly displacing civilians from the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood under brutal artillery shelling that the area endured for five consecutive days, falsely claiming that those shown are our fighters.

We affirm that these allegations are completely untrue. The published images depict civilians who were forcibly displaced as a result of direct aggression by those factions, in addition to civilian youths who were abducted by these factions and taken to an unknown destination.”
