Interior Ministry Personnel enter Hasakah for Closed-Door security meeting

A number of Interior Ministry personnel affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government arrived in the city of Hasakah, in al-Jazira Canton, in coordination with the Internal Security Forces of al-Jazira Canton. The move comes as part of the implementation of the provisions of the January 30 agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian Interim Government.

The delegation headed to the Traffic Department building in the city, where a closed-door meeting is being held away from media coverage.

Prior to entering the meeting, both the Head of Internal Security in Hasakah Governorate appointed by the Interim Government Marwan al-Ali, and a senior official in the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria, Mahmoud Khalil Ali, responded to questions posed by journalists.

Mahmoud Khalil Ali, also known as “Siaband Afrin,” stated:
“We are now implementing the agreement concluded between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Interim Government,” emphasizing that the objective of the agreement is to stop the war and prevent bloodshed on both sides, as war causes harm to all parties involved.

He pointed out that the people of Rojava and North and East Syria have, since 2011 to the present, sacrificed more than 22,000 martyrs and over 30,000 war wounded, stressing that the sacrifices of those martyrs and wounded must not be in vain.

He added that a committee has been formed to oversee the integration process, noting that the committee has arrived in the region to complete the necessary procedures and will depart once its work is concluded.

For his part, the Head of Internal Security in Hasakah Governorate, Marwan al-Ali, stated that the current coordination refutes all rumors and the narratives promoted by those who incite hate speech.

He added; “I claim that this coordination will eliminate any existing disputes… the coming days will confirm that things are returning to normal.”
