Mercenaries of the Turkish-backed Interim Government in Syria kidnapped families from buses on the outskirts of the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods of Aleppo after they were forced to flee to distant areas to escape attacks targeting them.

The families were stopped and kidnapped at Interim Government mercenary checkpoints on the Aleppo-Afrin road, specifically after checkpoints were set up before Kafr Janah and Basouta.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that the buses sent by the interim government, supposedly to transport families leaving the two neighborhoods, were merely a means to abduct young men, compile a list of residents of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh, and later pursue them in occupied Afrin by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries.
