Intellectuals: KDP continues to engage in the enemy’s tricks

The high level of coordination and cooperation between the Turkish occupation state and the Kurdistan Democratic Party in launching attacks against the mid-range defense areas in Southern Kurdistan, sparked criticism and denunciation of the Kurds throughout Kurdistan and North and East Syria in particular.

Kurdiyar Deri'i, a member of the Jazira Canton Intellectuals Union, confirmed that the Turkish occupation attacks were not a result of the moment, and said: "Since the establishment of the Turkish Republic in 1923, it has been hostile to the cause of the Kurdish people." He said: "We do not blame the enemy for its attacks because it is an enemy, and the Kurdish parties must benefit from the history of the Kurds."

Kurdiyar Deri'i stressed: "It is clear that the Kurdistan Democratic Party has not learned lessons from the history of the Kurds, and continues to engage in the enemy's tricks." He denounced the Democratic Party's position, describing it as shameful.

Deri’i explained: “After the 2017 referendum, the position of the Kurdistan Democratic Party was very shameful before Turkey. Today, Turkey imposes its policy on the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and the Kurdistan Democratic Party cannot refuse that. We see that Erdogan’s visit to Baghdad and Erbil and his signing of several hidden agreements raises fears and carries with it many of question marks.

Deri'i criticized the policies of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Southern Kurdistan, and noted that: "Today, Erbil is in a difficult situation. On the one hand, it has contradictions with the central government, and on the other hand, with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Kurdish movements, so it is always trying to please Turkey."

Deri’i stressed the role of intellectuals in organizing and leading society, and said: “Parties are formed to serve society and the people, but when society submits to the service of those parties, this is dangerous.”

Deri’i noted that the Kurdish people had a historic opportunity in 2006, when the federalization of Southern Kurdistan was announced, and stated: “We were hoping that this region would become a turning point for all of Kurdistan, but unfortunately neither the parliament nor the government united, and rather their contradictions increased even more.” The only party that confronted the plans of the Turkish state was and still is the Kurdistan Liberation Movement in the Mediya defense areas.”

Deri'i called on all Kurdish parties to hold an urgent national conference to determine the future of the Kurds and "put an end to the Kurdish bloodsuckers.

A call to intellectuals

The co-chair of the Union of Intellectuals of the Jazira Canton, Abboud Makso, called on all Kurdish parties to stop their silence regarding the attacks on the defense areas, and explained: “After the failure of the Justice and Development Party in the municipal elections, politically and socially, it wants to legitimize its existence through attacks and the extermination of the Kurdish people.” “Especially against the regions of Mediya, the Kurdistan Liberation Movement, and the occupation of Kurdistan lands.”

Abboud Makso appealed to all intellectuals to unify their voices and stop being silent in the face of the Turkish attacks. He said: “For 40 years, Turkey has been sucking the blood of the Kurdish people, and it has not been able to achieve any victory and will never win. We must now open the path to peace and brotherhood through our solidarity in the face of these attacks.”
