The cities of Rojava witnessed widespread celebrations on Tuesday, marking Newroz 2026. The festivities began with the lighting of torches in Qamishlo, Amuda, Hasaka, Derbasiyah, and Tirbespiyê, under the slogan: "Let's make Newroz a celebration of Leader Apo's freedom and Kurdish democratic unity." Large crowds attended the events, which included artistic performances, folk dances, and traditional songs.

The celebrations took place at the March 12 Martyrs Stadium in Qamishlo, the village of Jaghir Bazar in Amuda, the Derijik area in Tirbespiyê, the Western Dam in Hasaka, and the village of Gulbistan in Derbasiyah.

The festivities featured folk dances, patriotic anthems, and traditional Kurdish songs, as well as speeches emphasizing the need to secure the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, escalate the struggle, and achieve national unity.
