Imrali delegation on behalf of Leader Abdullah Ocalan: operation enters new phase

The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Imrali delegation issued a written statement following its meeting with Leader Abdullah Ocalan in Imrali.

The statement read:

“Today, as a delegation, we met with Mr. Abdullah Ocalan in Imrali Prison. The meeting lasted for two and a half hours and went very well. Mr. Abdullah Ocalan’s health and condition were very good. During the meeting, Mr. Abdullah Ocalan emphasized that we have entered a new phase and that everyone must assume their responsibilities in accordance with the requirements of the phase regarding the new steps being taken.

Our delegation indicated that a meeting with the President would be very beneficial, and the date for the meeting was confirmed. He emphasized that the committee to be formed in the Turkish Parliament would play a significant role in achieving peace and a solution. We saw with great hope and confidence the unity of the process and its benefits for the democratic process in Turkey.

During the meeting, we heard the news of the loss of a number of soldiers’ lives due to methane gas in the Kurdistan Region. This saddened Mr. Abdullah Ocalan and all of us first and foremost. We pray to God to have mercy on them and offer our deepest condolences to their families and loved ones.
